Winter Recreation

Yes, there are winter recreation activities in the Tillamook State Forest. Many anglers are enjoying winter steelhead fishing, families are building snowmen and throwing snowballs, boot prints and motorcycle tracks have been seen on a few trails, and there are even a few cold weather campers enjoying the winter fun.

Winter is great time to experience the forest under a blanket of snow if you are prepared. It's easy to get all of the information you need to have an enjoyable forest adventure.

Winter Reminders

Oregon Department of Forestry does not issue permits for nor allow personal or commercial cutting of Christmas trees in the Tillamook State Forest. Please visit your local Christmas tree vendor for a tree.
Let's keep all of the trees in the Tillamook State Forest growing!

Winter weather is upon us. Please check the forecast, carry emergency supplies, drive carefully and visit TripCheck-Oregon for highway road conditions and Oregon Department of Forestry's Website for forest road reports before your next forest adventure.
