Fire Danger Levels Change to Moderate

Effective tomorrow, Friday, June 15, 2026 the Fire Danger Level that governs public use activity in the Tillamook and Clatsop State Forests changed to the following:

NW1: Moderate / Blue

NW2: Moderate / Blue

NW3: Moderate / Blue

In Moderate / Blue Fire Danger, the OHV trails in the Tillamook and Clatsop State Forests are open for riding all day.

Regulated Use and Fire Season remain in effect.

Fire Season for Tillamook State Forest Begins on Monday June 15th

ODF's Forest Grove, Tillamook & Astoria Districts will enter Fire Season and Regulated Use on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 12:01 AM.  The following restrictions will be in effect at that time:

IFPLs:

  • NW-1:  IFPL 1
  • NW-2:  IFPL 1
  • NW-3:  IFPL 1

Fire Danger:

  • NW-1:  LOW
  • NW-2:  LOW
  • NW-3:  LOW

At High Fire Danger, all OHV trails on the Tillamook State Forest are closed to riding from 1pm to 8pm.

All State Forest Campgrounds Open!

 All campgrounds on the Tillamook, Clatsop, and Santiam State Forests have now officially opened for the 2026 season.

As the season progresses, please continue to check the blog and ODF Recreation Page for updates on any seasonal closures for forest operations or permitted events.

Seasonal developed campgrounds will close on October 5th and seasonal OHV campgrounds will close on October 31st.

OHV Campgrounds Open on the Tillamook State Forest

Browns Camp and Jordan Creek Campgrounds on the Tillamook State Forest have now officially opened for the 2026 season.

Other primitive OHV camping and staging areas, such as Cedar Creek Designated Dispersed Sites, Lyda Camp, South Fork Trask, and Jordan Creek Designated Dispersed Camping Areas, are also open.

Diamond Mill OHV Campground, after being closed for upgrades, is also now open again!

Diamon Mill OHV Area Temporarily Closed

Diamond Mill OHV Area will be close starting Monday 2/23/26 for approximately 3 weeks. 

During this closure, improvements will be made to the facility as it is converted into a full campground.

 Rogers Road / Gales Creek Day Use and Trailhead Reopened to the Public!


Rogers Road leading into the Gales Creek Day Use Area and Trailhead will be reopened to the public today (1/16/26) at 10:00AM as the Highway 6 road work has completed and both lanes of traffic are now open.

Rogers Road leading into the Gales Creek Day Use Area and Trailhead will be temporarily closed while ODOT completes repair work on the Highway 6 slide. Estimated closure time: 2 weeks.
